Now tourists can choose a refundable or non-refundable rate when booking a hotel room. If you choose a refundable option, you will be able to get back the full amount paid for your stay.
“When making a return booking, the contractor waits for the consumer until the check-out time of the day following the scheduled check-in day, after which he has the right to reject the contract and cancel the booking,” the document says.
However, a non-refundable booking is one in which the contractor provides for the deduction of the fee paid (in whole or in part) in the event of cancellation of the booking or no-show. The consumer may choose this option before concluding a contract as an alternative to the refund option.
“In the case of a non-refundable reservation, the contractor waits for the consumer until the check-in time of the last day of the paid reservation, and if the conditions of the reservation stipulate that part of the paid reservation is subject to refund, then the last day is considered to be the one for which the fee is retained according to the conditions of the reservation,” the department said.
You can also get a full refund for a non-refundable reservation, but in special cases, these must be documented. Reasons may include illness of the consumer, illness or death of a family member included in the reservation, presence of an emergency situation in the hotel area, conscription for military service at the time of mobilization.
Hoteliers said non-refundable rates are often used when selling airline tickets, which is effective
“By using non-refundable rates in the hotel business, a profitable form of interaction between the hotel and the guest will be created, who will be able to receive a lower price for the room, and the hotel operator will receive guaranteed accommodation,” Maxim Brodovsky, general director of the AZIMUT hotel chain, was quoted as saying by the Ministry of Economic Development.
