Perm Polytechnic University has found an innovative way to process wood waste that could radically change the environmental situation in the country. Russia, which has the second largest timber reserves in the world, faces serious environmental problems such as fires and illegal logging. One of the solutions proposed by scientists is the complete recycling of all woody biomass, which will help reduce environmental damage and increase the efficiency of forest resource use.

High-yield pulp (HYP) is obtained from process chips, traditionally used in the production of paper and cardboard. Scientists from Perm University found that the same high-quality CVW can be obtained from wood waste such as sawdust and sawdust. This method turned out to be not only environmentally friendly, but also economically viable, significantly reducing the risk of fire and reducing harmful gas emissions.

Professor Firdaves Khakimova said that their experiments showed that CVV obtained from waste meets the required standards for pulp from traditional wood. Olga Noskova added that the resulting semi-finished product successfully replaces waste paper in the production of cardboard, which opens up new opportunities for the processing of wood waste and contributes to the protection of the environment.
