Fighting against unwanted calls and messages has become an urgent task for mobile device users, especially when it comes to potential scammers. Technologist Sergey Birzhevoy from the service “Take Responsibility!” shared tips on how to protect yourself from unwanted people and suggested effective ways to combat this common problem.

According to Birzhevoy, modern smartphones already have built-in functionality for blocking spam subscribers. iPhone owners can open the Phone app, find the number, tap the “i” icon and select “Block Caller.” Android users can do the same through the call log by selecting the number and tapping ‘Block.’ These steps will help you effectively manage unwanted calls and messages.

If the built-in functions are not enough, Sergey Birzhevoy advises to pay attention to third-party applications. For example, Truecaller automatically recognizes and blocks spam, Hiya analyzes calls and messages, and Kaspersky Who Calls displays information about the calling organization. Yandex with Alice and CallerID from SBER also provide the opportunity to block and identify unwanted people. In order to minimize the number of such calls, it is important to be careful when publishing your number and not to leave it on questionable sites. In case of aggressive calls, it is recommended to report this to the telecom operator, this will help protect you and other users from unpleasant situations.
