AirPods 4 are supposed to replace the AirPods 2 and 3 models on the market, introduced in 2019 and 2021, respectively. The new earphones will come in a version with active noise cancellation, but in the basic version – without it. It is expected that no one will notice any visual differences between them. Both versions of AirPods 4 will have a USB-C connector, complete with a charging case, but the more expensive version is supplemented with a contactless charging function. At the same time, as Gurman says, the AirPods Pro line will not be updated yet. AirPods 4 is the likely name of the model, but in reality it may be different.
Note that the first-generation AirPods were introduced to users in the fall of 2016, at the same time as the release of the iPhone 7, becoming the first Apple smartphone without a headphone jack.
Earlier, RB.RU wrote that Apple has begun developing a smart home device with a screen and a robotic hand. The device will become the command center of a smart home.
