According to Associate Professor Ekaterina Zhang, the new model includes an infrastructure for efficient data storage and fast access. It allows you to quickly find parts of a video recording and check if the video has been modified for manipulation purposes.
Previously, you had to look through the entire volume of recorded data to find the desired piece. Now, each frame is provided with a unique “digital fingerprint” through metadata and hashing, significantly speeding up the process of searching and verifying video content. Zhang noted that this technology is particularly applicable to smart city systems and other large video surveillance networks.
