Avito Auto experts analyzed the supply, demand and prices of new automatic cars for the first seven months of 2024. It turned out that the share of demand for new cars was 27.4%, and in supply – 21.37%. The Geely Monjaro mid-size crossover has become the most popular among them. The average cost of this car was 4.5 million rubles, and it was purchased by 6.05% of customers. The second and third places in the ranking were also occupied by representatives of the Chinese automotive industry: GAC GS8 with a share of 5.68% and Changan UNI-K with 3.02%.
“Cars with automatic transmissions occupy a significant share of both demand and supply, as many owners want to drive comfortably, especially in the city. Reliability in the operation of the unit and its durability are also important,” says Artem Jomutinnikov, Head of Sales of New Cars at Avito.
According to experts, an “automatic”, unlike a “robot”, does not need to be trained to shift gears, it is less sensitive to loads in the urban cycle, and therefore car manufacturers continue to produce cars with automatic transmissions.
