The results of the study showed that more than 34% of respondents cannot afford to buy an iPhone 16 due to its high cost. Another important reason for abandoning the new product was that Americans are willing to use their old smartphones. Another nearly 13% of respondents are limited by a carrier contract that will not allow them to replace the device, and another 5.5% of respondents say that the iPhone does not change much from one year to the next.
Many users say they are used to the two-year upgrade cycle. Another 3.3% of them will ditch the iPhone 16 for the 17 model, which will be released in a year.
About a third of U.S. residents cite competitive pricing as a key factor in their smartphone purchasing decision. Nearly 55% would choose the iPhone 16 if it were larger.
Earlier, RB.RU spoke in detail about the fact that the presentation of the iPhone 16 and other new Apple products is expected in September.
