Earlier this week, Kommersant published an article stating that the Prosecutor General’s Office intends to convert the shares of the Raven Russia group of companies to the benefit of the state. According to the newspaper’s sources, foreign buyers acquired assets of almost 2 sq. m. logistics parks.
But the transactions, according to the newspaper’s law enforcement interlocutors, were carried out in violation of the law on the procedure for foreign investment in strategically important business entities.
The assets were legalized through “fictitious transactions,” Kommersant’s source said.
“We consider that certain opinions and information contained in these articles about the activities of our company with references to claims are false and discredit the company’s reputation,” Raven Russia commented in the publication.
They added that they intend to take measures to protect their interests.
The group also stressed that they had not received a complaint from the Attorney General’s Office and could not comment on the information.
In March 2024, it became known that Raven Russia began looking for buyers for business centers in St. Petersburg and that the organization also wants to sell several warehouses in the Moscow region. Experts then estimated the total value of the assets at 17-21 billion rubles.
Raven Russia was founded in 2005 by British businessmen Anton Bilton and Glyn Hirsch to invest in real estate in Russia. In 2022, the company’s board of directors approved the transfer of the business to the Cypriot company Prestino Investments.
