At the same time, the number of tools aimed at exploiting vulnerabilities in drives is also increasing: 24 such tools have appeared on the Internet since 2021, 16 in 2023.
“This gives them (hackers) the opportunity to perform various malicious actions, such as planting ransomware or gaining a foothold in the system for espionage or sabotage, and carrying out complex targeted attacks,” Kaspersky Lab said.
