Apple has cut 100 jobs, most of whom worked in the Apple Books and News divisions, Bloomberg reports.

While this is a small performance by the standards of other tech companies, it is notable because Tim Cook has stated that weakness is a last resort for the company.

According to the publication, Apple Books will become a less priority for the company in the future. The service is not effective as a means of combating revenue growth.

Apple News now makes a lot more money through its News+ subscription service to great magazines.

This is already the fourth known layoff of Apple employees in 2024. Previously, the company closed the project to create an electric car, curtailed the development of microLED screens and involved specialists in Sphere II as part of the reorganization. [Bloomberg]
