Xiaomi has introduced three new flagship smartphones of the Mi 12S family.
The regular Mi 12S and Mi 12S received a 50 MP camera developed in collaboration with Leica. Both devices are equipped with Sony IMX707 modules measuring 1/1.28 inches.
The Mi 12S also has two secondary cameras: a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 5MP macro camera. The Mi 12S Pro has a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto lens.
Both smartphones are also powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
The Mi 12S has a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Mi 12S Pro received a 6.73-inch display made using LTPO AMOLED technology. Thanks to LTPO, the screen can adjust the display speed from 1 to 120 Hz.
The Mi 12S packs a 4500mAh battery and supports 67W wired charging and 57W wireless charging. The Mi 12S Pro has a 4600 mAh battery. It can be charged from Xiaomi’s proprietary 120W power supply. A full charge is expected in 19 minutes.
The main novelty of Xiaomi was the Mi 12S Ultra. This is the company’s first smartphone with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 module. Thanks to it, the Mi 12S Ultra camera captures more light and generates flare, ghosting and chromatic aberration better than other smartphones.
Also inside the artificially optical lens are other cameras: a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle and a 48 MP telephoto with a 5x zoom.
Mi 12S Ultra is also the world’s first Android smartphone to support Dolby Vision HDR video recording. 10-bit videos with h.265 codec are received in HLG format with Rec.2020 color space in both 4K and Full HD.
The display in Mi 12S Ultra has a diagonal of 6.73 inches and is made using LTPO AMOLED technology. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and features stereo speakers, Harman Kardon settings, and Dolby Atmos support.
A 4860 mAh battery is installed inside. Supports fast wired charging 67W and wireless 50W. There is 10W reverse wireless charging.
