SimBIG uses learning from galaxy distribution data and has been able to improve the accuracy of predictions compared to traditional methods. This approach provides half the uncertainty of previous techniques and is consistent with predictions based on observations of other cosmic events.

Scientists said the SimBIG method allows for more efficient use of space observation data, which is especially important for new space exploration. The method helps to solve problems such as elucidating the nature of dark energy and dark matter, as well as resolving the cosmological crisis associated with the inconsistency in the measurement of the Hubble constant.
