Elon Musk fears for freedom of speech and is considering adjusting his travel routes

To demonstrate his position on Kamala Harris’ role in restricting free speech, Musk directs link to the candidate’s pre-election interview. The reason for the fears expressed in the post about widespread censorship was the decision of the Brazilian Supreme Court judge, Alexandre de Morais, the day before.

The company ordered the suspension of X nationwide for one day, Globo writes, and demanded that Apple and Google remove the social networking app from stores for five days (they later revoked this order). A fine of 50 thousand reais (8.9 thousand dollars) was also imposed for using X.

This decision was made after the X management refused to return its representatives to the country. Previously, the representative office was dissolved because employees received threats from the Brazilian authorities (according to Musk, who accused them of trying to impose censorship).

According to the businessman, freedom of expression around the world is under threat, as evidenced by the recent arrest of Pavel Durov in Paris. In the comments to his post, the businessman did not rule out limiting travel to “countries where freedom is ‘protected by the constitution’.”

This came in response to a message from one of the users, who suggested the billionaire think “about the consequences of his foreign trips” to the UK, France and Brazil, which he visited shortly before the trials.

At the same time, in Brazil, Bluesky is happy: due to the temporary ban on X, users migrated to this social network. “Brazil, you are setting new activity records on Bluesky!” – says a post on the official Bluesky account.
