The new rules will come into effect on September 1. As of that date, wireless adapters can only operate on the 100-148.5 kilohertz (kHz), 6765-6795 kHz and 13553-13567 kHz bands. Chargers that exceed these limits will no longer be supplied to the country.
The ban will primarily affect Apple MagSafe wireless charging for the iPhone, as devices in this class operate at a frequency of 360 kHz. Consumer wireless chargers are also now limited to a maximum power of 80 watts.
