Nokia Networks provides base stations, wireless technologies and servers to network operators around the world and is the parent company’s largest segment. Nokia’s assets could be sold, transferred or merged with competitors, including Samsung.

However, the discussions are still in the early stages and it is not yet known what Nokia will decide. It is assumed that the transaction value could reach $10 billion. Samsung’s purchase of Nokia’s network assets will increase the company’s competitiveness.

However, both Nokia and Samsung declined to comment.
