Future PLC, the site’s owner, made the decision to shut down AnandTech due to the “changing landscape of tech journalism” that has seen “traditional media diminish in importance.” Despite the closure, Future PLC will maintain the AnandTech archives and forums.

Western peers say AnandTech is a cornerstone of hardware journalism, known for its meticulous, in-depth reviews. Founder Anand Lal Shimpi started the site as a teenager and built it into a major tech authority before moving to Apple in 2014.
