The Yandex.Maps app now has the ability to track the workload of various establishments during the day. This update will help users choose the right time to visit to avoid queues at museums or long waits for a table at their favorite cafe.
The occupancy table is available for various places across Russia, including restaurants, libraries, museums and zoos. To see this information, simply find the business you want, scroll down a bit and open its card. The system will tell you how many people usually visit the establishment on different days and times, and will show statuses from “usually few visitors” to “usually many visitors”.
The Yandex.Maps algorithm calculates congestion based on anonymized data about the geographic location of users who share their coordinates in the app. It updates the information weekly and presents it in the form of graphs. This feature is currently available for iOS users and will soon be available on Android.
