They decided to bring four German brands from the mid-price segment to Russia

According to SPARK-Interfax data, in the summer Gerry Weber’s legal entity, LiM Holding LLC, registered Russian domains that repeat the names of these four brands.

Gerry Weber is a mid-priced women’s clothing brand. It is represented in 141 stores in Russia. According to Marina Malakhatko, senior director of CORE.XP, the brand has historically not shown high sales in the country.

In the regions, LiM Holding works through partners who are not always able to promote the brand. At the end of last year, the supplier terminated the commission agreement with the structures of the Smart Casual Group. This spring, LiM Holding tried to recover 1 billion rubles through the Moscow Arbitration Court.

According to Olga Sumishevskaya, a partner at One Story, it will not be easy for a distributor to promote Ultimo Fashion Group brands in Russia either. Although new German brands do not appear here very often, the market as a whole is oversaturated. She believes that even high-quality brands find it difficult to stand out from the crowd without strong positioning, investments in advertising, promotion, etc.

• In the first half of the year, 11 foreign brands of clothing, footwear, electronics and household goods appeared on the Russian market. They are from Turkey, China, South Korea, Italy, Spain and Germany. Up to 20 new brands may appear on the market by the end of the year, including the French cosmetics company Panier des Sens.
