WhatsApp added improvements in groups giving admins more control over members. In an announcement this Tuesday (21), the messaging app also revealed news about finding groups from common people.

A new WhatsApp tool allows administrators to better manage the members of a group. This ‘waitlist’ includes users who have ‘wanted’ to join that group but are awaiting approval.

This new format is available for both open groups within the Community and groups that share the invite link. So basically, you can only enter a group and/or community if the admin actually approves participation.

“Groups are where people have their most candid conversations, and it’s important that admins can easily decide who can and can’t join,” WhatsApp said in a statement.

Searching for groups easier

Another innovation that has emerged today will make life easier for those who join many groups but cannot remember the names of all of them. According to WhatsApp, the tool was designed based on “the growth of Communities and their larger groups.”

In application search, the user can also enter the name of another person who joins the public groups. Thus, it will be possible to see all the participating groups and to find them faster.

But WhatsApp mentions that new features will be available “worldwide in the coming weeks”. Soon, not all users will be able to find the news from today.
