According to an insider, OpenAI will prepare 8 new voices for ChatGPT. The options will be released in a future app update.
User known as Tibor Blaho (@btibor91, on X) allegedly found the sounds by reverse engineering the web version of ChatGPTThe new artificial interlocutors are named Fathom, Glimmer, Harp, Maple, Orbit, Rainbow, Reef, Ridge, and Vale.
ChatGPT’s new voices are more natural and Can reproduce onomatopoeia more convincinglylike dogs barking or ducks quacking.

In addition to the ability to convincingly reproduce onomatopoeia, the new sounds are more expressive and tend to present emotions in more convincing ways.
The ChatGPT voice mode was introduced as part of GPT-4o in May this year. The tool’s release was controversial because the synthetic voice sounded too similar to actress Scarlett Johansson’s voice.
Since they are apparently new items in development, there is no estimate for their public launch.
