Scientists conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of 28 studies covering 1.2 million people. It turned out that the tracers were able to accurately determine the status of COVID-19 (88 out of 100 cases) and atrial fibrillation (87 out of 100 cases).
Originally designed to track physical activity, these devices can now measure blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, sleep quality and other parameters.
Scientists say such trackers could modernize medical examinations, but their clinical use requires expansion and improvement of functionality.
