If you want your smartphone battery to last longer, you should follow a few simple recommendations. Egor Zarechnev, Operations Director of the MTS Urent Power Banks service, shared tips that will help extend the life of your device and avoid frequent battery changes.
Maintain a moderate charge level
To help your battery last longer, try not to let your phone go below 20% or charge it above 80%. Zarechnev noted that charging surges damage the battery, shortening its life. Modern iPhones are already equipped with a system that does not allow charging above 80%, but special applications can be installed for other devices.
Use original chargers
The expert stressed that it is important to charge your smartphone only with an original or manufacturer-recommended charger. Each device is designed for a specific voltage and current, and using the wrong chargers can negatively affect the battery.
Monitor temperature during charging
Don’t leave your smartphone charging in hot or extremely cold places. Zarechnev recommends keeping the temperature between 16-22 degrees to prevent the battery from overheating. It’s also important not to charge your phone in a case, especially if it’s not original, as this can increase the temperature.
Do not touch the phone while charging
It is better not to use your smartphone while it is charging. Watching videos, playing games and even surfing social networks can cause the battery to overheat, and according to Zarechnev, this can even cause the device to explode.
Avoid fast charging
While fast charging may seem convenient, it should only be used as a last resort. Zarechnev noted that it accelerates battery wear and shortens its service life.
Keep your device clean
Keep your phone clean, especially its connectors and speakers. Zarechnev reminds us that dirt, sand, and moisture can degrade the device’s performance and shorten battery life. A simple wipe will help prevent these problems and extend the life of the device.
