After the slowdown in video hosting in Russia, domestic platforms began to offer bloggers functions for their mass migration from YouTube to their platforms. Services appeared on VK Video – VK Video Transfer, on Rutube – “Transfer video from YouTube”, and the newcomer – the “Platform” service, has it, it was placed in the “Video Import” section.
Representatives of these platforms said that YouTube had introduced technical restrictions. As they say, the YouTube administration does not need the migration of Russian bloggers. The Platform reported that foreign hosting companies have started to prohibit mass uploading of videos and that the queue for importing them is getting longer.
YouTube’s stock also suffered from the usual services that allow users to download videos from a hosting, such as Savefrom. There are restrictions: first, users are asked to download low-resolution MP4 videos (360). If you increase the quality, you will be able to download the video, but it will not have sound.
Views of popular Russian bloggers’ content on YouTube after a slowdown in video hosting fell by 12% to 78%. This is shown by a report by the analytics company JagaJam. View rates for long videos and vertical (short) videos have dropped sharply.
