The lawsuit, led by attorney Joey Zukran, alleges that Apple’s warranty somehow does not cover liquid damage, despite the company’s marketing claims that the iPhone can withstand such conditions. The case involves a 19-year-old student whose iPhone stopped working after coming into contact with water while on vacation in Mexico. Despite the phone being relatively new, Apple allegedly refused to repair or replace it due to the exposure to liquid.

Zukran claims that this exclusion contradicts Apple’s advertising claims and seeks to invalidate the warranty’s liquid contact clause. The class-action lawsuit seeks compensation for affected users, reimbursement for the cost of repairs, and $500 for each of the lawsuit’s participants.
