The Ozon marketplace has started testing a new option in the app – “Public Profile”. It will contain reviews of purchased products (except for some categories) left openly by users. This will allow customers to follow other buyers with a similar purchasing profile and select suitable products. This was reported to RB.RU by the company’s press service.

During the test, you can go to the page of a person with a public profile using an invitation link that the user will send to another Ozon buyer. Based on non-anonymous reviews left about a product, it will also be possible to access the buyer’s public profile and subscribe.
Only the first name and the first letter of the last name (if available) will be used in this profile, and the customer can always hide some reviews and change the public name.
“By connecting the option, we draw the customer’s attention to the new functionality and suggest how to hide their profile in their personal account. The customer can always completely hide their profile – to do this, they need to go to their personal account and disable the function. In this case, other buyers will see a summary “the user has hidden their profile” and will not be able to see the reviews left,” Ozon said.
The company is confident that the new feature will give customers more opportunities to choose the right products thanks to the opinions of other customers with a similar purchasing profile.
At the end of August, Ozon launched automatic collection of oversized goods at sorting centres. Customers will be able to pick up furniture, household appliances, building materials and other items free of charge and at a convenient time if they are delivered through the marketplace.
