The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has approved an order according to which air navigation fees for Russian airlines will increase from 1,200 to 1,600 rubles for flights within the country (for every 100 km of flight with a takeoff weight of up to 100 tons). For international flights, the fee will increase from 4,600 rubles to 9,200 rubles. The order is scheduled to come into force on September 17, 2024.

The funds raised are intended to repair 50 airfields by 2030 and spend 12 billion rubles a year on these purposes. The association believes that the additional financial burden will lead to an increase in the price of airline tickets and a decrease in the competitive position of Russian airlines compared to foreign ones, for which there are no plans to increase fares.

The members of the association, which includes 23 of the largest Russian airlines, proposed to raise funds for the renovation of airfields, including from foreign companies, and to increase tariffs for transit flights and air navigation for them. It is proposed to increase tariffs for Russian airlines on domestic flights by a maximum of 10%.
