The retailer uses Yandex Market robots at the Severnaya Zvezda warehouse in Zaramenye (Moscow region).

A robotic depalletizer with artificial intelligence has already appeared in the Lehman PRO warehouse. It sorts pallets of boxes of different sizes, shapes and weights and places them on a conveyor belt.

In this way, Lemana PRO hopes to reduce the cost of warehouse operations, as well as relieve workers from hard and monotonous work.

“We expect that the use of the robot will reduce the cost of depalletizing operations by about 40% and increase their speed up to two times,” said Vasily Kuznetsov, director of supply chain automation at Lehman PRO, whose words are quoted in the message.

Yandex Market noted that this is the first implementation of “smart” depalletizing in Russia and the first industrial test of robotics in the retail sector.

In the future, Lemana PRO also plans to test a robot with a mechanical gripper. Such a robot can pick up small objects, such as construction fasteners.

Yandex announced the development of the first prototypes of warehouse robots in the summer of 2022. The devices were created for tasks in Yandex Market and Yandex Shops. Forbes clarified that the company also plans to sell robots to external customers.
