So it is very rare for cars to remain unsold. This is because dealers think about how many cars they need to sell and then send a request to the factory.

So what happens to abandoned cars?

First of all, to sell a car, dealers often organize various promotions to create the impression that there is a bargain among people. For example, they may be offered a longer warranty, more attractive credit terms, etc.

If that doesn’t work, the cars can be sent to auction, where they are bought by other dealers or companies, such as car rental companies. Sometimes the cars are sent abroad to places where there is demand.

It also happens that unsold models end up with taxi companies or fleets. In extreme cases, they can be sent to private parking lots to await export or sale.
