The combined company Wildberries and Russ will become the largest owner of warehouses in Russia in the coming months. The volume of space in this segment can more than double – up to 3.5 million sq. m, said Konstantin Fomichenko, regional director of the industrial and warehouse real estate department of NF Group. Fomichenko says that Wildberries could become the leader in Russia in terms of the volume of warehouse real estate already by the end of 2024. A year earlier, the volume of warehouse space on the market was about 1.5 million square meters, and in 2024-2025 it will increase by more than 2 million square meters.
The second place in this ranking will be occupied by the company “Modern Real Estate Funds”, which will own warehouses totalling 2.3 million square metres. The third place in this indicator will be occupied by the Magnit retail chain, which currently has 1.9 million square metres of warehouse space; there are no plans to open new facilities there in the near future.
In early September, auditors Wildberries & Russ found that the subsidiary VB Development had not fulfilled some of its obligations; its debt to the parent company amounted to more than 30 billion rubles. Therefore, they decided to entrust the construction of the logo centers to another contractor.
