Brazil’s Supreme Court President Alejandro de Moraes has ordered the transfer to the country’s treasury of 18.35 million Brazilian reals (about 3.3 million dollars), blocked in the accounts of X Brasil Internet (7.3 million reals) and Starlink Brasil Serviços de Internet (11 million).

The court said the decision could not be appealed because the companies did not file appeals in time. Following full payment of the fines, all assets of Elon Musk’s companies in Brazil were unfrozen: the judge considered “that it is no longer necessary to block the bank accounts.”

In late August, Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court ordered the suspension of social network X in the country after the company’s management refused to return its representatives to Brazil.

Elon Musk called the decision an attack on freedom of expression, and X competitor Bluesky saw the number of accounts rise to a record 9 million, despite 85% of new users being Brazilian.
