According to new research published in Kidney International Reports, coffee may reduce the risk of acute kidney injury. This condition is also known as acute kidney failure (ARF). It causes waste products to build up in the blood, preventing your kidneys from maintaining the correct fluid balance in your body. If the disease is not treated, it can affect other organs as well.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University studied approximately 14,207 adults between the ages of 45 and 64. The analysis showed that those who drank any amount of coffee each day had a 15% lower risk of AKI. In the study, someone who drank two to three glasses a day had the greatest risk reduction of 22-23%.
