Russian clothing stores to rewrite prices on their products before the end of the year

Experts came to these conclusions after interviewing representatives of 150 Russian brands and “analysing the state of the market”. The rise in the cost of clothing is also affected by the rise in the cost of raw materials and other costs of manufacturers.

The trend towards rising clothing prices in Russia since the beginning of 2024 has been recorded by CRPT (the operator of the Honest Sign labeling system). According to the results of January-August 2024, on average, jackets became 9.3% more expensive compared to the same period in 2023. Vests have increased in price by about 10%, and coats now cost 4% more.

According to INFOLine’s analysis, about 80% of the clothes sold in Russia under domestic brands are manufactured abroad. Raw materials for the production of these products are usually purchased abroad. Costs of tailoring companies are also increasing in the country.

In mid-May, retailer Lamoda launched sales of its own menswear brand Mademan. The first collection included more than 100 items for the men’s wardrobe. These include T-shirts, polos, shorts, sweatshirts, shirts and hoodies.
