The case was opened under Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder), Part Three of Article 30 of the Criminal Code (preparation for a crime and attempted crime), Part Two of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more persons), under Article 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal possession of firearms), Article 317 of the Criminal Code (attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer) and Part Two of Article 330 of the Criminal Code (arbitrariness).
According to investigators, on September 18, in the Moscow office of Wildberries in Romanov Lane, seven people were injured as a result of a shootout, including two security officers who responded to a call to suppress illegal actions. Two people died from their injuries. All victims were hospitalized in medical institutions, where they are receiving medical assistance.
Investigators and forensic scientists are currently working at the scene. The Investigative Committee is carrying out a series of investigative actions aimed at establishing the full circumstances of the incident. Investigators are interviewing witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage.
Earlier, Wildberries’ press service informed RB.RU that the co-founder of the marketplace, Vladislav Bakalchuk, had “attempted illegal entry with armed guards.” Bakalchuk explained that he came to the office to negotiate the end of the construction of warehouses. The businessman’s wife, Tatyana, said that “no one agreed to any negotiations.”
Vladislav clarified that he hired armed guards after learning “about the connections of the new management of the online platform with a terrorist group sponsored by a certain politician, originally from Ingushetia, who holds a high government position.”
“It was also a surprise that in the Wildberries building, in addition to armed people associated with terrorists, there were uniformed police officers who sided with those who attacked us,” Bakalchuk wrote on his Telegram channel.
Security forces have not yet said which side opened fire first.
