Earlier, the Moscow Cheryomushkinsky Court sent the case against Kirsanov to the Yekaterinburg Verkh-Isetsky District Court. At the trial, he was asked if the man admitted his guilt. He replied that he did.

A criminal case was brought against Kirsanov in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Creation and distribution of malicious computer programs”). He is accused of creating a website that sells malware for the World of Tanks and World of Warships games. It is believed that with his actions, the man inflicted damage to the game developer in the amount of 670 million rubles. The maximum penalty under this article is five years’ imprisonment.

It is stated that Kirsanov is the first person accused of committing cybercrime in the gaming industry in Russia.
