Recent changes to the testing app on SteamDB have revealed that the company is testing several games that benefit from compatibility with Windows games on Linux using Proton technology.

Interestingly, Proton now has an ARM64 version, which could potentially open up the possibility of running PC games on ARM-powered devices, including Android.

It is worth noting that at the moment Valve is actively developing support for ARM devices and has already tested games such as Left 4 Dead 2 and Shadows of Mordor, which indicates the wide possibilities of running games on ARM64 using Proton.

The leak also mentions Waydroid, which could mean support for Android devices and greatly expand the audience.

While some have suggested that Valve may be developing its own ARM devices, this is unlikely given the Steam Deck’s already low price.

Most likely, Valve plans to improve general support for devices with non-x64 architecture.
