The Association of Internet Trading Companies (AKIT) has denied reports of the mass closure of pick-up points (POI). According to the AKIT telegram channel, the organization explained that the reports that were spread about this were rumours.

“The number of collection points is not a constant quantity, but changes dynamically,” the association stressed. Points can close, change brand or ownership, but the proportion of such collection points in recent months has not exceeded 1% of the 120,000 that are in operation, they added.

AKIT noted that the business now aims to develop online trade in remote regions, including Siberia and the Far East, where companies support local entrepreneurs by opening partner pick-up points.

On September 25, 2024, Forbes and specialized Telegram channels reported that pick-up points were closing due to a lack of staff. According to the magazine, trade is also suffering from a staff shortage. In the first six months of 2024 alone, the number of vacancies in the sales field exceeded 1 million – such information is contained in the July study by PEC and hh.ru, which the publication wrote about.
