This is the first study to show the effectiveness of a new coronavirus antigen panel. Experiments on mice confirmed that, after two-stage vaccination with the addition of adjuvants, the proteins obtained in the cells led to the production of antibodies that effectively interact with the Omicron variant S protein.
The study’s co-author, Ekaterina Evtushenko, senior lecturer at the Department of Virology at the Faculty of Biology at Moscow State University, noted that the resulting antigen panel has the potential to create universal vaccine candidates against various variants of SARS-CoV. 2 viruses.
