The Neiry neural interface reads the electroencephalogram (EEG) and tracks head movements to determine the state of the brain, including stress and concentration levels. Using the API, engineers integrated the neural interface with the car’s computer to create an algorithm that controls wheel rotation and speed.
The system adapts to the “driver’s” state: if he concentrates, the speed increases; It decreases as fatigue increases. In the event of an emergency, for example if the “driver” loses consciousness, the system activates the emergency stop.
This project, the first of its kind in Russia, demonstrates the potential of neural interfaces to improve road safety, as well as the possibility of using technologies for people with disabilities.
