The Discord messenger faces a fine of up to 4 million rubles in Russia for failing to remove prohibited information. This is stated on the website of the Tagansky District Court of Moscow.

The court received a protocol on part 2 of article 13.50 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) of Russia. The court hearing is scheduled for September 30, 2024.
For non-compliance with the obligations provided for in this part of the article, legal entities are subject to liability in the form of a fine in the amount of 800 thousand to 4 million rubles.
Discord is a platform that allows users to communicate via text messages, voice calls, and video conferencing. Popular among gamers as well as various communities, educational groups and corporate teams.
- In 2023, the Tagansky District Court of First Instance fined Discord Inc. 6 million rubles for failing to remove porn videos featuring minors.
- On March 12, 2024, Roskomnadzor included Discord in the register of social networks. Now the service must independently identify and block information prohibited in Russia published on its resource.
- Since September 20, Roskomnadzor has sent five new instructions to Discord regarding its work in Russia. As follows from the registration of banned sites, these decisions can become the basis for blocking the platform under the Law “On Information Technologies and Information Protection”.
