Insect waste products can be used in medicine, cosmetology and agriculture. The main innovation of the project is the creation of an artificial moth line that can recycle plastic more efficiently. NSTU experts have developed a breeding technology that makes it possible to breed the required number of insects in five generations, the university press service noted.
The most common method of recycling plastic in Russia today is burning, but it emits harmful gases. The press service added that moth breeding offers an environmentally friendly and inexpensive alternative.
