The Moldovan provider Orange Moldova, at the request of the country’s Information and Security Service (ISS), blocked the websites of the services rutube.ru, yandex.ru and dzen.ru, as well as the Moldova 24 television channel moldova24.online and pwa.moldova24.online. The telecommunications company announced this on its portal.

Moldovan provider Starnet also imposed restrictions on Rutube and Yandex Internet resources, its representatives told Gagauzinfo. At the same time, Starnet claims that it blocked these sites at the request of the country’s National Agency for the Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technology.

Moldova 24, citing a statement from the ISS, reported that the blocking of platforms is associated with a “high level of misinformation” about them.

On September 26, 2024, access to the RIA Novosti website was restricted in Moldova. In October 2023, more than 30 Russian media outlets were blocked in the country, including TASS, Izvestia and Interfax.
