With great anticipation, Oura announced the new Oura Ring 4 with new features in coating, shape, structure and dimensions. The announcement, made this Thursday (03), shows some improvements over the previous model, such as titanium construction, fully rounded appearance and more sensitive sensors.

Speaking of design, Ouro Ring 4 abandons the circular look with a relatively flat plate, unlike what the company has implemented in recent models. The entire perimeter of the wearable device is solid and even the round shape of the sensors has been changed to a flatter shape.

Titanium construction is another highlight of the gadget, as its predecessor only had a body covered with this material, and its interior was made of epoxy. The launch is 2.88 mm thick and weighs 3.3 to 5.3 g. As for the battery, the model, which can be unplugged for up to 8 days, has a new charger.

120% more accuracy on select sensors

Oura Ring 4 promises major improvements in sensor and software capabilities, as well as design changes. According to a study conducted by the brand, the smart ring provides up to 120 percent improvement in capturing data on blood oxygen levels and can be 30 percent more accurate in collecting information about the user’s sleep.

To make this possible, the manufacturer added an 18-path photoplethysmography (PPG) system to better understand human signals during the day and night. In fact, Oura’s accessory is 15% more accurate at detecting respiratory disorders and significantly reduces errors when capturing day and night heart rate data.

Oura Ring 4 is currently available for pre-sale on the international market for US$349 (approximately R$1,900 in direct conversion) in silver, brushed silver, black, stealth, gold and rose.

Oura Ring 4 also supports new finger sizes from 4 to 15. The previous version started at number 6 and ended at number 13.
