Ask anyone on the Internet: which smartphone shoots video best? The answer will almost always be the same and, in general, correct – this is the newest iPhone model.
In the Cupertino product line, the best videos are produced by the iPhone Pro line. That is, for quality you have to pay 90 thousand rubles or more. Android smartphones, including flagship ones and even more expensive ones, still cannot overtake Apple in this parameter.
Nevertheless, there is progress. In September I saw this firsthand. Together with Infinix we went to Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi, where a cool festival was held in the mountains Newstar weekend. The main smartphone for events was the Infinix ZERO 40 5G, and its features included the highest quality video at the low price of the smartphone itself (39 thousand rubles!).
I propose to simply compare this quality here and evaluate that same progress using two examples. We will make a contrast between the new Android product and the flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max. Yes, no “easy mode”.
What is Infinix ZERO 40 5G
A nice sloping body with a large block camera with an inscription.
Infinix Zero 40 5G was launched in Russia on September 24. It is equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a high resolution of 2436 × 1080 pixels and a refresh mode. 144 Hz.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor, which provides high performance and consistent application performance. It has 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal memory, which allows you to store a large number of photos, videos and other files.
Yes, you can play top games – the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor is no joke, a real “kick” for stagnant mid-level Snapdragon chips.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W modular wired charging and 20W wireless charging as standard. Qi2. This allows you to quickly “charge” your smartphone to 100 percent: it only takes one hour and a few minutes.
The design of the device is stylish and modern. The colors are also interesting, I took a purple-pink test. The back cover is visually divided into two parts, which gives the smartphone an unusual look.
We wrote more about the Infinix ZERO 40 5G in our review. Today I want to draw your attention to his camera.
What’s good about the Infinix ZERO 40 5G camera
3 cameras plus flash in Infinix ZERO 40 5G.
The main camera consists of three modules: a main 108 MP, an ultra-wide-angle 50 MP and an auxiliary sensor module of 2 MP. The front camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels. In terms of the quality of the sensors, the situation is at least at the appropriate level – these are not budget matrices.
Important point number one: The Infinix ZERO 40 5G camera has optical stabilization, which allows you to take clear photos and videos even in low light conditions. The camera produces excellent results, autofocus is fast and error-free, and the frames are sharp.
The Infinix ZERO 40 5G ultra-wide-angle camera has a resolution of 50 MP and allows you to take high-quality photos in daylight. It’s great for shooting landscapes or large groups. Digital zoom in Infinix ZERO 40 5G allows you to display objects up to 3 times without losing image quality.
Concert Tesla Fight at the Newstar Weekend festival in the rain – it was cool.
Important point two numbers: The Infinix ZERO 40 5G also supports 4K video recording at 60fps per camera. This is a serious request; most smartphones in this price category cannot do this. We get an excellent choice for those who like to shoot videos and make reports on a smartphone.
High-resolution videos and 60 frames give results that you rarely see on the screen of an Android smartphone for 50 thousand rubles. I was convinced of this myself, I want to advance you.
Comparison video of Infinix ZERO 40 5G vs iPhone 15 Pro Max
For initial conditions.
iPhone 15 Pro Max and Infinix ZERO 40 5G updated to the latest publicly available OS versions. The standard shooting settings are set everywhere, with the exception of resolution. Both record video in 4K 60FPS. use only the main camera.
Let’s see what happened.

Stationary videoSmartphones rest on the fence. This comparison allows you to evaluate image clarity, color quality and frame stability under the most ideal conditions. Besides climaticOf course, during part of the festival, almost endless rain came to Krasnaya Polyana. It was filmed in these conditions. Thanks to the mobility of both smartphones!
In my opinion, here both videos are almost on par, if not behind the iPhone. The clarity of the picture is definitely on the side of the Infinix ZERO 40 5G. Detailing has been enhanced, perhaps after processing while saving the video – but it’s useless to argue with the result. Especially when you compare the originals. By the way, I often see a “bag” with blinking LED strips on the left side of the case on my iPhone at home, but I don’t have this on my Infinix.
In terms of color reproduction, I would also choose what I shot with the Infinix ZERO 40 5G. I deliberately did not touch the exposure on the lower devices before shooting, I only set the focus point. That is, we are dealing with the most automatic result both in terms of weather and color correction. I agree that both of these points can be edited both during the recording process and in post-production. But with development, such a trick rarely works without a negative final result.
Conclusion: that’s what’s important defeated Infinix 40 ZERO 5G. Yes, my heart lies more with Apple, but you can’t fool your eyes. It’s impossible not to think: for the cost of an iPhone 15 Pro Max, you can get two Infinix 40 ZERO 5G. And in the end, we count the pixels and compare them. To be honest, this comparison surprised me the most. I expected a much larger difference in iPhone use for landline recordings, after all, in marketing and Internet years, as the iPhone has come off from the economical quality of video recording.

The second example is much more active shooting: in motion, with continuous frame changes and swaying arms. It already reveals how each smartphone maintains image clarity and frame stability when the optical installation is operating.
I think what will immediately catch your eye is that the focal lengths of the lenses are different. The iPhone’s main camera captures a slightly larger frame. It is also noticeable that in this case the clarity of the picture is now on the iPhone’s side; it has a smaller “trail” for moving objects. At the same time, on the Infinix ZERO 40 5G you can still distinguish small details and text. There is no feeling that you are looking at “soap” in the video from both devices.
In terms of color reproduction, the iPhone 15 Pro Max clearly wins. The saturation of the Infinix ZERO 40 5G video is extremely high. As in the previous case, this can be corrected with post-processing. Or software updates. Unlike Apple, which prefers to fix “quality” once and forget it, Android device manufacturers apply the rules for shooting and processing both photos and videos in their smartphones from firmware to firmware. I wouldn’t be surprised if color rendering in motion is also “fixed” in the future.
Conclusion: with frequent frame changes iPhone 15 Pro Max wins as a video. True, not in two once…
What’s the result?
I really like that the Infinix ZERO 40 5G comes with a case actually has MagSafe support. I bought this case for the iPhone, but in the end I don’t wear it with it.
Having used the Infinix ZERO 40 5G on a trip as my main device for shooting video, I was pleased. The video quality on the Infinix ZERO 40 5G successfully matches that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Smartphones are falling both in price and in characteristics – and that’s why it’s great that there is little difference in the quality of video footage shot on a device that’s more than twice as accessible.
I have been saying for a long time that middle-class Android smartphones are increasingly breathing down the back of Apple’s flagships. It’s just that earlier it concerned the quality of the photo, but now it’s the turn of the video. Besides, competition is very good.
Infinix ZERO 40 5G is on sale in Russia at a price from 39,990 rubles. For this money you get the characteristics of a mid-class smartphone with many positive stars: Huge 144 Hz AMOLED screen, amazingly powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor, smart kit (normal case, fast charging and even protective glass!). And, of course, I was surprised by the good camera.
PS The fact that the smart middle price segment could generally serve at any level of quality VIDEO against iPhone and somewhere No start, I consider it a wake-up call.
