The antitrust agency document suggests that price stabilization agreements can now be concluded not only for socially important products, but also for any food and non-food products.
The message emphasizes that the changes will not affect the procedure for determining the need for such agreements or the list of products for which they will be concluded.
Business participation in these agreements will continue to be voluntary. According to the FAS, these changes will help stabilize prices of goods and increase their availability for citizens.
- The list of products of social importance includes bakery products, sugar, dairy products and vegetables from the so-called “borscht set”.
- On September 11, 2024, the regulator required the largest producers of bread, flour and butter to provide information on each planned increase in the sales prices of these products before the end of the year.
