Sber trained the GigaChat Pro AI model to recognize images and handwritten text for users to use as additional context to the request. This was reported by the press service of Sberbank.

“The model will determine how many people are in the photo, what they are wearing, give advice on dressing style and much more,” the press service of the credit institution noted.
In addition to recognizing handwritten text, GigaChat can now identify printed text, formulas, graphs, tables and also analyze the information reflected in them. This can help, for example, students: they will be able to obtain a summary of grades or educational material, according to Sberbank.
Companies will be able to use new functions through an API (special programming interface). The model will be able to create a product description based on the image uploaded by the user, Sberbank said.
Sber launched GigaChat in April 2023. Among other things, the neural network can answer user questions, maintain a dialogue, write program code, create text and images based on descriptions within a unique context. In September of the same year, access to GigaChat was opened to business representatives.
