This time it was the starting point. Nearby a new residential complex was built, called “Transfiguration”. We decided to start with him. Construction started in the spring of 2018, 11 buildings are planned. Previously, Avtokombinat No. 28 was located on the territory.

The origin of the name of the residential complex is a mystery. The Preobrazhenskaya Square metro station is far away, it is not included in the Preobrazhenskoye district, this is the Bogorodskoye district. And finally, the Cherkizovsky Pond, which gradually turns into the Cherkizovsky Playground. It is not clear why the park is called a playground. The area around the ponds has been landscaped, nice to walk around. In summer, when it’s hot, there are a lot of people, everyone lies, sunbathes, some even swim. There is a pedestrian bridge in the Palace of Creativity area. It was built for a long time. A lot of people don’t like the bridge. The design really looks quite heavy, such a project is out of the question here.

House “Rubik’s Cube” on Cherkizovskaya. It is built with standard panels, but the facade looks unusual. It looks like someone has experimented with a giant constructor. And the house is also known for a laboratory in the attic, from where a laser beam shone at night and gave rise to various rumours. More about the house here.

Palace of Children and Youth Creativity. It was built as a new House of Pioneers of the Kuibyshev region, but it was only opened in 1996. The original project.

This entire park area, along with the pond, belonged to the Metropolitan Dacha in the village of Cherkizovo. They say that there was a beautiful bishop’s estate with an orchard and elegant flower beds – a summer vacation spot for Moscow metropolitans. After the revolution, the territory was given to the state farm Krasny Luch. In the 1930s, a stadium, the RZD Arena, was built. The dacha itself burned down in the 1990s. Remains of old lime alleys and part of fruit trees have been preserved. The cabin was rebuilt. It would be better if they didn’t, there is no resemblance at all.
