Listed companies could publish business forecasts for the coming year in their prospectuses. This proposal was expressed by the director of the corporate relations department of the Bank of Russia, Ekaterina Abasheeva, RBC reports.

Abasheeva explained that now investors see in prospectuses only information about the past or current state of the business. Forecasts for the future are only available in advertising material, which, in their opinion, does not allow for a complete assessment. The disclosure of this data in the brochures would impose on companies the obligation to comply with the established forecasts, believes a representative of the Central Bank.
He also suggested publishing reports from independent analysts to compare a company’s stated value with recommendations from professionals. This, in his opinion, would give investors more tools to evaluate a potential issuer.
The head of the Central Bank department added that placement organizers play an important role in increasing transparency. Your signature on the brochure could confirm the accuracy of the information disclosed.
By 2030, the capitalization of the Russian stock market should reach 66% of GDP, President Vladimir Putin said. This means a three-fold increase compared to the current level, which is now 34%, Alexey Yakovlev, director of the financial policy department of the Ministry of Finance, noted at the ACRA forum. To achieve this goal, the volume of new placements of companies must be at least 4.5 trillion rubles, of which 1 trillion rubles will be shares of state-owned companies.
As Vedomosti wrote referring to the forecasts of the Ministry of Finance, at least 20 initial public offerings should be carried out per year. Since the beginning of 2024, 11 IPOs have already been held in Russia: 10 companies have placed shares on the Moscow Stock Exchange and one on the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange. Until the end of the year, up to 20 primary and secondary placements are possible, General Director of the Moscow Stock Exchange Vladimir Krekoten told RBC Investments.
