The company confirmed that in September there was indeed an attack targeting company resources, but it was quickly stopped, all resources were disconnected from the network and verified in accordance with security protocols. The company reported the incident on the Telegram channel.
According to Dr.Web, the attackers’ main goal was to demand a ransom, but the company refused to negotiate with them.
An investigation is currently underway and law enforcement authorities are looking into the incident, according to the statement. Dr.Web decided to refrain from making additional comments so as not to interfere with research actions, the company noted.
Dr.Web also noted that the information published by the hackers about the hack was largely false and user data was not affected. Updates to virus databases and program modules remain safe for users. The company has strengthened measures to protect its resources and is analyzing materials published on Telegram channels to identify possible leaks.
