The social network’s press service confirmed the layoffs but said it would lay off 500 people and did not specify why. However, the modernization of TikTok’s moderation system speaks in favor of replacing moderators with artificial intelligence: about 80% of content whose authors violate the rules of the site is deleted by the “smart” system. In total, 110 thousand people work on the social network.
