“The measure of seizure of income unjustifiably received from increasing tariffs and transferring funds to the budget was used by the department for the first time when establishing such a crime,” FAS representatives said.
MTS is studying the received regulatory documents and, based on the results of the evaluation, will decide on actions, including their possible challenge, the company’s press service informed RB.RU.
In April and May, the operator increased rates for more than 30 million subscribers by an average of 8%, the department reports. For this reason, in October the FAS recognized that MTS had violated antitrust laws.

In October 2022, the regulator ordered the company to reduce rates due to their increase of more than 20%.

In September 2023, the FAS announced that it would check MTS due to complaints from subscribers about increasing prices for communication services.
